Mission Statement

VISION STATEMENT:

To help needy children throughout the world get shoes on their feet, and in doing so, improve international relations and spread goodwill.

MISSION STATEMENT:

To raise awareness to the plight of shoeless children in impoverished or conflict torn regions and do our part to put shoes on children’s feet.

ABOUT TREVOR AND OUR ORGANIZATION:

We are a group of people who came together to create this non-profit organization through a shared and special friendship with our good friend Trevor D. Aston.  Trevor was a Marine with the Marine Forces Reserve’s 1st Battalion, 23rd Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division out of Austin, Texas.  Trevor enlisted in the Marine Corps in the months after 9/11.  Trevor was intelligent and selfless; he gave all he could for his friends and all of himself for his country.  He was killed while on duty on February 22, 2005 in a vehicular accident in Al Anbar Province, Iraq.  Trevor was 32.

One of Trevor’s greatest qualities was his generosity.  One of his greatest idiosyncrasies was his love of shoes.  Pumas, Vans, Adidas, you name it he probably had a pair.  He was, as I overheard someone say, the “Imelda Marcos” of our group of friends.  We came together to celebrate these great qualities and share them with the world.  This is our way of remembering and honoring our great friend.

HOW IT WORKS:

We will actively be soliciting donations for our organization.  Donations of all kinds will be accepted.  Monetary donations will primarily be used for purchasing new or second-hand shoes, and for the postage to ship the shoes to their destinations.  Shoe donations will be inspected, cleaned, repaired if necessary, and then shipped as well.  We will also research frequently for areas and populations of children in need of footwear.

WHAT YOU CAN DO:

As a retailer in the footwear industry, we welcome the opportunity to educate your staff on the realities of poverty and insufficient footwear needs of children throughout the world. Our meetings are open to the public, so any interested individuals are welcome to attend. We welcome comments, advice, or questions, and of course, monetary donations are always appreciated and can be made out to Trevor’s Footsteps, Inc. and mailed to 1305 Summer Oak Dr., Suite M, Austin, Texas 78704.
